Coming in 2026: Urban Farm

Growing Community, Nourishing Pittsburgh

Exciting things are sprouting on Beltzhoover! The Soil Sisters are transforming four vacant lots near East Warrington Avenue into a thriving urban farm, set to make its debut next summer. This new chapter brings our mission full circle: increasing access to fresh, nutritious produce while empowering our neighbors through hands-on education and shared stewardship.

Our urban farm will offer:

  • Fresh, locally grown produce available for purchase at an on-site market
  • Community-driven design-neighbors are invited to help shape the farm’s future
  • Educational workshops and volunteer opportunities for all ages and skill levels
  • A living example of how vacant land can be reclaimed for food, learning, and healing

This project is deeply personal for us. As Pittsburgh natives, we’re committed to reconnecting our community with the land-both for its nutritional value and its power to heal and inspire. We’re working with local partners to remediate the soil, build a greenhouse, and create a space where everyone feels welcome to grow, learn, and lead.

Stay tuned for updates as we prepare to break ground and invite you to join us in cultivating a greener, more resilient Pittsburgh. Together, we’re not just growing food-we’re growing community.
